The weather had finally decided to catch up with the seasons, and had caught on with the fact it was supposed to be summer. Jasmine didn't bother with a coat as she walked down the bright, busy highstreet - it would have been stupid, she'd have only had to take it off once she'd got outside and evaluated how hot it actually was. It was a nice surprise, considering this was Britian, and hot weather was never really something that happened no matter the month. Of course, though, there was bad points to the hot weather too, like the fact her hair was getting all dry, and it was sticking to her, everywhere it could reach and attach too. She couldn't complain, though, because she'd complained about the cold weather too. At least there was some change now.
Her shoes clicked against the concrete pavement as she walked, her hand lifting to her forehead, trying to brush her hair out of her eyes again although giving up after a minute. She was a little over dressed just to be going in to the villiage, but that was the way she liked it, plus she had plans to go out after this, somewhere nice and relaxing, where she didn't have to worry about anything, because the pounding music pulled all her troubles away. She had on a pair of deniem jean shorts, that cut off at her midthigh, and a backless black top with black pumps on her feet. She felt comfortable, though, it wasn't like she was actually dressing to impress. The hot weather made it feel nice to wear these sort of clothes, and she didn't see the point in wearing jeans when she'd be far too uncomfortable in them.
She pushed open the door to Honeydukes, getting a blast of warm air hitting her straight in the face, the smell of the many sweets assulting her nose. She paused at the step for a slight second before stepping in to the shop, and heading over to the chocolate section - she knew chocolate had healing properties, in some respects, and she felt like eating it. Plus, her stash at home was running low - it always seemed to run low when her friends had been around, thinking about it. She'd have to watch them more closely next time, or move her stash to a new hiding place.
After picking up a few of the boxes that were in front of her eyes on the shelf, she paused and let herself take a good look of the actual shop, her eyes scanning around her, to see if there was anyone she knew. Honeydukes was usually a pretty busy place, but it seemed quiet today, not that it was never quiet either, lots of places had days when no one entered the shops. She didn't see anyone straight off bat, but she walked around the isles slowly, looking both at the sweets, and for people, picking up some sugar quills as she walked past - she had an addiction to them, so shoot her. She couldn't resist them, it wasn't her fault.

Seriously, though, Remus. I’ve got to get back to work. I haven’t seen you in a few weeks, though. It was nice seeing you again. Maybe we’ll talk later.” the scrawny man behind the counter of Honeydukes sighed, running a hand through his dirty blonde hair. Remus shrugged. Usually, he was a regular in the store, and couldn’t spend a week without visiting at least once or twice, if not to buy his weekly dose of chocolate, then to visit the friends he had made there over the past few months and years. It was kind of funny, really. Unlike regular people, who came into the candy shop, bought what they needed, and left, Remus lingered. He stayed at the cash register, or near one of his friends, and held a conversation. He didn’t really blame himself, though. If he were going to talk to them ever, why not do it when he saw them? It didn’t matter if they were working or not.
He turned around, watching the people in the shop scurry by. It was a nice, warm summers day, but surprisingly there were not many people in the shop. Save for a few small children, their parents, and a few other people that looked about his age, the Hogsmede shop looked empty. It was very unfortunate, if Remus were to be honest with himself. He wasn’t much of a people person, and didn’t go out of his way to talk to everyone in sight, but he, as most human beings and animals did, enjoyed the company of others. Whether engaged in conversation or simply people watching, Remus enjoyed it greatly.
Seeing the sugar quills, Remus made a beeline for them. They were no Hogsmede Special Dark Chocolate, per say, but they were definitely one of his snacks of choice. As a student in his Hogwarts days, Remus was appalled at the popularity of such snacks. They were easy ways to both get a sugar high, distract yourself during class, and never learn any darned thing. But now that he was out of school, Remus could appreciate them much more. He saw now that they were very tasty, and understood that most teenagers did not enjoy school as much as he did. Just as he was about to grab a box of the delicious snacks, a girl’s hand grabbed it from in front of him. Remus turned to her. Unfortunately, she had already passed, and was making her way towards some of the other sugary treats. “Hey, Jas!? Hungry for some sugar, are ya? I haven’t seen you in forever.” he grinned, walking towards his friend.

Jasmine was making her way to the cash register to pay for her sweets when she'd heard her name being called, sounding like it had come from somewhere behind her. She obviously hadn't been doing a very good job of scouting out people she knew if she'd missed one. She turned on the spot, and glanced around for a short moment, seeing who it could be when she spotted him. Remus Lupin. She hadn't seen him in a while, despite seeing him nearly everywhere when she was in Hogwarts. It felt nice to see someone she actually recognised and knew on a well enough level to hold a decent conversation with - and he was amazinly smart. She'd been surprised when she'd seen his choice of friends in the hallways at school - they didn't seem like the type of people she'd associate Remus with, but looks could be decieving, she'd learnt that fairly quickly as she'd seen them grow over the years - it helped that the other three had matured too, she supposed.
She glanced him over, before turning around fully, taking a few steps nearer so that she could meet him half way, and stood still for a second before shaking her head, a smile still plastered against her lips. "Remus!" She exclaimed, happily. "I've not seen you for time! How've you been doing?" She glanced down at the objects in her hand and smiled slightly, giving a little nod. "I have a sweet tooth... You can't talk, the amount of times I've seen you in here too." Her tone was playful, but in all honesty, she didn't know if she'd ever seen Remus without chocolate somewhere close by. It was like he had some sort of never ending supply under his bed. Not that she'd been under his bed, so really, she didn't know where he'd keep it - but she'd assume it would be somewhere the other three couldn't find it late at night, when he was sleeping. Friends nearly always equaled chocolate theives.
She was happy to see a familiar face though, it had been a while, and she'd not really connected with people inside of the school, Remus had been one of those exceptions. He looked rather fine, today as well, she was far used to seeing him pale and ill looking, but he didn't look too bad, she hoped whatever it was that caused him to get ill in school was wearing off, but she didn't feel like asking - he always seemed so caution when other people did. She could admit that Remus was one of the guys she'd crushed on in school, while most of her friends choose to go after the two famous marauders, but she wasn't sure if that feeling still lingered there or not. She'd never even really seen him interact with girls at school, either. Hmph. She didn't think much of it though, the point right now was that he was here! "Man, I missed seeing you around the library."

Remus grinned. He couldn’t help it, really. He was very happy to see somebody he knew, especially on a boring day such as today. Of course, he could’ve engaged in an interesting game of people watching, but he didn’t want to really do that today. He had been doing that all week, staying in various places of Wizarding London. From approximately ten in the morning to about seven or eight at night, Remus John Lupin could be seen on the streets, usually sitting around with a snack or something similar, watching people go by. Some people considered it creepy, rude, and stalker like, as if he were following the people with more than his eyes, and for more than a few seconds. He laughed at those people, usually. But there were times, of course, where he felt like he fit that description almost exactly. ‘Oh well,’ Remus thought. It didn’t make any sense to him, listening to the other people. The only people’s opinions that mattered were his own, and his friends, the Marauders, of course, being on top.
Looking at Jasmine, trying to read the look on her face, he stepped forward, meeting her in the middle of the isle. In her hands were a variety of sweets. She must have been craving sugar; perhaps it was even her time of the month. He inwardly shuddered at the thought, and wanted to think about that sort of thing no longer. His own ‘time of the month’ would be around soon enough, and well, he didn’t want to think about that all the time. “Jasmine!” he exclaimed back to her, waving his arms for a second in mock excitement, although he was still very excited to see her. How could he not be? He probably hadn’t seen Jasmine around since they had graduated from Hogwarts, and that was a good year or two ago. Now that he was gone from school, he missed those days. At least in those times he had a job. At least he had something different to do with his days than sit around like a bum on the streets.
“I’ve been doing well, I suppose. No luck in the job department yet, though. What about you? You doing anything lately…in the job department, I mean?” he asked her, laughing at her observations. It was true that he came to Honeydukes often, and rarely left with less than two boxes of chocolate in tow. In school, he had been known rigorously for his consumption, and little had changed since his school days. “Didn’t think you’d notice, you know, with you always being in the library and such.” he joked, running a hand through his hair. He bit the inside of his lip. Man, he didn’t quite realize it before now, but being away from Hogwarts truly had been a shame. He missed it greatly, and was glad that he finally had time to catch up with an old friend or two, even if their meeting was by pure chance.

Jasmine tilted her head to the side, he hadn't changed much since Hogwarts really, in the sense that she could still recognise him, and he seemed to have the same type of relaxed air he'd used while at the school. She was glad, at least it didn't seem like life had been treating him hard, although she didn't know and again, she didn't want to ask and make it seem like she was trying to intrude on his personal life, that would be something he'd tell her if he wanted her to know, she gathered. She didn't like to push for informaion, although she did wonder what he'd been up to in the last year or so they'd be free from school, but that was just something she wondered about everyone who'd attended in around the same year group as she had. It was just one of those things, like when there were reunions and you only went to see what everyone else had been doing with their life, or if they were doing better than you were.
She laughed slightly, "Are you mocking me, there, Mister?" She asked, watching him wave his arms around, her eyebrow slightly raised, it didn't bother her if he was. He looked kind of funny though, waving his arms around like that. She at least didn't look like a mad man in the middle of a sweet store. It was still good to see him though, and to know that he still had his chocolate thing going. She supposed somethings never really changed much though, Remus was one of those but she admired him for being able to do what he wanted, go where he wanted and all that without being scared - a lot of people were these days, what with the omnious threat of the Dark Lord. She shook her head very briefly, letting her hair fly out, fanning around her shoulders. She didn't want to think of him, that'd be a downer on the whole day.
Jasmine listened to him before nodding once more, "Don't worry your socks about it, jobs aren't that fun anyway." She said, smiling. "I have a part time one... not as much fun as people make it seem." The same routine, day in and day out, got a little tedious. She didn't think she'd be able to cope with a full time job, although it'd be helpful, she'd rather be happy and have no money than be stuck in a long job, until she was well off and miserable - she was sure that's what had made her father the grouch he was. "Oh, please." She rolled her eyes, "I'm not sure that anyone missed your affair with the sweets. Even if they lived in the library. And I wasn't always in the Library, I just always happened to be in there the same time you was." Strangely, it was hardly ever to study, unlike Remus, she prefered going in to just get away from the noise and pretend to read a book.

He looked at her, taking in the familiar face, and wishing that he hadn’t gone almost a year and a half without seeing her. They weren’t exactly the closest of friends, of course. They were hardly in the same house, either, although many a teacher (and even the torn up sorting hat in Remus’ first year, for all that it mattered) claimed that he belonged in Ravenclaw just as much as he did in Gryffindor, if not more so in the previous. Remus hated these comparisons, but embraced them at the same time. On one hand, he liked very much where he was in life, and did not want to think of himself anywhere else but Gryffindor. He had friends there, friends that were closer than family ever had been. He had lived there for seven years of his life. In this one instance, he was not so welcome to change. On the other hand, the prospect of being in Ravenclaw excited him. It was an entirely different world, something that he had not experienced in his life time. The teenagers in that other house were also his friends, and he found that he had a lot of things in common with them. It seemed, though, that it was just another life experience that would never be his.
Not that it really bothered him, anyway. He was perfectly content where he was, and never felt like he missed out on anything. Just because it seemed that he belonged somewhere else didn’t mean that he didn’t fit in right where he was. He was definitely a Gryffindor, through and through, and that was something that would never change. He laughed at the girl in front of him. She was laughing too, so he knew that it was safe to laugh along. He watched her hair fly around her face. What was she thinking about? She seemed to be acting a little bit odd, even for a Ravenclaw such as Jasmine. He gave her a slightly concerned look before grinning again, attempting to keep it ear to ear, as it had been before. “I might’ve been mocking you, yes. But only out of love, dear. Only out of love.” Remus shifted his weight from foot to foot. He felt a bit uncomfortable.
She kept on speaking though, talking about how she had a job and it wasn’t so great. Remus chuckled. If only she knew. Not having a job wasn’t as great as it sounded. Sure, he had free time, and sure, he had no real obligations or late hours in an office. But he had no money. He had nothing to really do with his life. He spent his free days roaming the streets. What kind of lifestyle was that? A terrible one, that was what. But how could he possibly explain that to somebody who had a job and didn’t understand his position? Not that Jasmine ever could, either. That would take even more explanation, and he wasn’t about to shout ‘HEY I’M A WEREWOLF!’ in the middle of a candy shop. “Yeah, well, I do need money. As much as it seems like a blessing to have no job, its really the opposite. Promise. And well, I can’t help it if it tastes good, now can I?” he laughed again.

Jasmine looked behind her, before glancing to the sides and back to Remus, putting a smile back upon her face. It was good to see old faces, especially ones you used to get on with whenever you saw them. She'd never thought about it before, but maybe she should have attempted to stay in contact with those whom she'd befriended. Most of her friends from Hogwarts were still around her, but there were a short few who'd gotten away, and she'd not even bothered with them. She felt a little bad for that, and like she'd completely pushed her Hogwarts years behind her - sure, she'd changed a lot since school. She wasn't so uptight anymore, but that didn't mean she got to forget about people. That was more of a Slytherin's way of doing things, and she definitely didn't belong in that house - or, she didn't think she she did anyway, she hoped not.
Jasmine let her eyebrow drop back down, and she ran her hand through her hair, pushing it all backwards, back to it's original position - she really couldn't do with it getting in her face when she got out of the store, she hated that. "I can take you mocking me.." She said slowly, still smiling, "It reminds me not to be excited about seeing you next time." She tucked her sweets under her arm loosely, holding the box to her side, so she had both hands free, before frowning very slightly. "You alright there?" Shifting was never a good sign, on little kids, it usually represented that they were in trouble, done something bad, or were ashamed... in adults, it was usually a sign of restlessness. She didn't want him to think he had to stand there and talk to her if he didn't want too.
Jas shrugged slightly, "I only just got this job, I can understand the needing money thing." She told him, although not having a job didn't really bother her. She didn't spend much money, after all, if she didn't have it then she couldn't spend it could she? But even now she was gaining a little more, she didn't spend that much, only if she went out - and sweets, of course. But it wasn't like she had to do much shopping, she lived alone, and she didn't tend to find the time to eat that much. She supposed it depended on the life Remus led though. "Well, I hope you find a job soon, if that's what you want." She smiled again, now, letting the frown drop from her lips. "I'll give you that. It's not your fault it's addictive, either." Stupid sugar.
